Coming across tarantulas

Years ago (when I was young) I used to intern for a record label in Silver Lake called Tarantula Records. The pay was nothing and the errands were endless. But outside of making press packages and printing shirts, hanging around the headquarters was pretty cool. Band members would pop in and tell horror stories from their latest tour or how well or shitty their last show was. The garage was converted to a full on screen print shop with tons of gear tossed everywhere unorganized. In the restroom there was a wall that was filled with polaroid pictures of band members who had stopped by the house to either party, poop or piss. From Brody to Tim Armstrong and other band members I had no clue of, I always tripped out on that wall.
There was a few guys who ran the record label but I mainly worked under this dude named George. George was a friendly guy. The kinda guy that would that would make a run to the super market but end up coming back with a beach ball.
One day Tim Presley from Darker My Love came to the pad and I over heard him talking to George about how sad his sex life was and how he was thinking about giving up on music all together and working at an In-N-Out Burger. After hearing this I had to skip over to the kitchen (button making room) and laugh my ass off. Happy days back then.

Fuzz announced a last minute show the other night at the Smell in downtown. I bugged my bro if he wanted to go and we made way. Walking down a dirty dark alley I came across Tim. I haven't seen the dude since my days back at Tarantula but I do follow his current project, White Fence. I asked how his latest tour went and if he was in the works of anything new with Ty Segall or Darker My Love? We shot the shit for a bit and I pulled out my brand new fuzz pedal that I had just got in the mail that day. I asked him if he would sign it for good luck. He took it, looked at it, turned it around and signed away. Then I told him about the In-N-Out story.
